Abstract:
This paper explores the implementation of green management practices in whisky distilleries across continental Europe, aiming to identify key strategies used to reduce pollution, waste, and emissions. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, the study draws insights from interviews with internal stake-holders (marketing, production, quality assurance managers) to understand the drivers and challenges of adopting environmentally sustainable initiatives in a traditionally resource-intensive industry. The findings highlight innovative practices such as energy-efficient production technologies, closed-loop systems, waste valorization methods, and eco-conscious packaging. This research is unique in examining green management within the whisky industry, offering perspectives on how emerging distilleries align traditional craftsmanship with sustainability goals. Limitations include its focus on distilleries founded after 2000, which may not fully represent the broader industry's green efforts. The research contributes to the broader discourse on green management by providing insights into the practices shaping the European whisky industry
