Abstract:
Innovation problems often result from the weak or missing connecΒ¬tions between industry and academia. This is caused by several barriers, such as the mismatch between available skills and those required by industry, or the limited ability of firms to recruit and develop human resources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that hinder βUniversity-Industry (U-I)β collaboration, and to examine the perceptions of both the academic and industrial sectors in our country regarding the impact of these factors on cooperation.
This study is based on a review of an extensive domestic and foreign literature. Based on the conclusions of the literature review, two structured questionnaires were developedβone for academia and one for industry. The questionnaires evaluate and analyze the perception in the academic sector in our country as well as businesses about the factors that hinder cooperation and the perception about the necessary measures for the positive progress of this cooperation.
