Abstract:

In recent years, drones have become a key tool in many industries, including tourism. In the security sector, it has brought numerous advantages in terms of monitoring, surveillance, prevention, intervention and effective response to crises. Given the advancement of technology, drones have proven to be highly effective in many security segments, including facility protection, public safety, crime-fighting, crisis management, and large-scale event monitoring. This contribution can be analyzed through different aspects, from physical security to digital protection and logistics. In the tourism industry, drones provide numerous advantages for both tourists and tourism organizations. Drones make it possible to capture incredible visual content, such as panoramic views and spectacular shots of hard-to-reach or natural locations. These recordings can be used in the promotion of tourist destinations through videos, images and virtual tours, which contributes to attracting more visitors. Drones make it possible to capture high-quality and attractive promotional videos and photos that can often show a destination from a perspective that would be impossible or too expensive to achieve with traditional methods. Given their advanced technological capabilities, drones have a significant impact on increasing the safety of tourists, efficiency in responding to emergencies and improving the protection of natural and cultural resources. Drones have the potential to improve tourism safety on many levels – from accident prevention and emergency response, to crowd monitoring and protection of natural and cultural resources. Their role in ensuring the safety of tourist destinations is becoming increasingly important, as they enable better control, faster response and more effective coordination among emergency services. This paper explores the main ways in which drones contribute to tourism safety, analyzing specific applications in different types of tourist destinations. Special attention is paid to their use in surveillance, emergencies, protection of cultural assets, crime prevention and ecosystem protection. Available sources of professional literature and secondary research were used in the paper. Through the analysis of practical cases and current applications of the technology, the paper provides a deeper understanding of the benefits and challenges related to the use of drones in tourism
