Abstract:
This paper examines the relationship between higher education and employment in Romania, using data from the 2021 Population Census in Romania. The methodology of the study includes creating regression models, hypothesis testing and examining the correlation between the variables, to assess how the proportion of university graduates influences employment rates among the active population. The results of the study reveal a significant correlation, indicating that an increase in the proportion of individuals with higher education corresponds with higher employment rates. Individuals with higher education represent a significant share of the employed population, highlighting that education is an important factor in determining employment outcomes. These findings suggest that education reforms are necessary to better align with labor market changes, ensuring the workforce is prepared for future challenges.
